Match Preview | Stoke City Women vs Stockport County Ladies
After setting up a run of wins, and progression into the next round of the Adobe Women’s FA Cup,
County were drawn against Stoke City, and our next fixture is set to take place on the 26th
November away from home.
Our last result in this competition was a 3-0 win, in a tough match which required County to
be patient whilst breaking down their opponents.
As for our opponents, they play in the league above County in the FA Women’s National
League, and they were moved into the Northern section in order to accommodate for an
equal amount of teams in each section.
Stoke City Women currently sit 6th in their respective league with a record of 4 wins, 1 draw
and 3 losses.
As for County, the team look to maintain momentum and continue the successive run of
victories in all competitions.
Manager Steve O’Hara has given his thoughts ahead of the tough fixture:
“We go to Stoke, who like ourselves have had a mixed start to their campaign and are just
getting a run of results together. [They] have only lost one of their last six games.
“It’s going to be a difficult challenge for us playing a team in the league above, but we don’t
shy away from it and we go there in really good form ourselves.
“This is an FA Cup game, it’s a one-off game. Anything is possible and we are confident of
getting a result.”
It’s going to be a tough fixture for County, however with current form, the team will put up
a fight to progress further in the Adobe Women’s FA Cup.
