6 Nov 2023

Following the 2-0 victory on Sunday against Chester Le Street Town ladies, County look to continue our cup run away from home in the Women’s FA Cup this Sunday.

In our last FA Cup fixture, County Ladies cruised through to the next round with a stunning 6-1 win against Guisborough Ladies, with 4 goals from Emily Bradshaw, and goals from Olivia Greenhalgh and Kenzie Bentley.

Our opponents play in the North East Regional Women’s Football League, and currently sit third in their respective league, having not lost a single league match this season. Their last FA Cup fixture saw them win 4-1 against Hartlepool Pools Youth Ladies.

Manager Steve O’Hara has spoken ahead of this weekend’s fixture:

“We got through to this round by defeating Guisborough in the previous round. It was a decent all-round performance against a team who hadn’t been beaten all season.”

“We are looking to emulate last season’s performance of 3rd round, and hopefully go one better. Another tricky tie coming up again against an unbeaten team in their league.”

“We go there on a good run ourselves, now unbeaten in 7 games and winning the last 4 games so our confidence is strong.”

The game looks set to be a fierce competition against two teams in form, but County look to maintain momentum and progress further in the competition.
